I am curious by nature, always asking questions, eager to explore new ideas, delve into different disciplines, and expand my understanding of the world. Whether it’s through reading, attending workshops, or engaging in discussion with others, I am constantly seeking out new information and perspectives.

Teaching is a way for me to give back, to contribute to the growth and development of others, as like many, I “stand on the shoulders of giants”. Whether I’m mentoring a colleague, giving a presentation, or simply having a conversation, I find great satisfaction in sharing what I’ve learned with others.

I thoroughly enjoyed my decade as a photography and communications instructor at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT). Later, opening my own private school, Photo Gurus, I found that teaching photography to small groups, was incredibly rewarding. I remain good friends with many former students and love to hear from them.

As an instructor, I see myself as a guide and a facilitator. I strive to create a learning environment that is engaging, supportive, and inclusive, where students feel safe to ask questions, explore new ideas, and challenge themselves.

As an experienced  CAPA Certified judge I am available to judge your club or regional photography competitions.

I am also available to photography clubs and groups to provide coaching evenings. A safe environment to evaluate photos without judgement.

In addition I am currently developing new one day workshops and online presentations.
